Event of the year, and no one to go with

Josh broke a rib two days ago, and he can't stand up for a while. So, midnight release parties are out of the question for him although the bastard can take his day off, and read and play games all he wants. At least I'm happy he can't drag me to the cinema to watch Transformers, either ( Read more... )

Hey, everyone has a thing or two to geek about. Thankfully, for my business. If those books didn't exist, people would jump at something else! Better to be about a silly book than, say, gossiping over dumb celebrities who wouldn't wear their knickers when wearing dresses? Besides, if Tolkien was alive and were still releasing his books right now -not counting the dung the son edits, I mean-, I'd be expecting you two gushing over it.

Nah, I find mecha and giant robots boring. The boyfriend loves them, but I never watched that as a kid.

[sorry ;____; if it makes you feel better, I know shit about Final Fantasy VII and yet, I have to fangirl Cloud who I find extremely boring *shudders*]

I'm not comparing them from a literary point of view, but as mass phenomena. I agree less people would go to a Tolkien release party than a Potter one, but a lot of geeks and even movie fans WOULD go.

You need to have a brain to enjoy his books

You'd be surprised.

[Sadly, roleplaying a gamer girl and not making her like Final Fantasy and Square Enix bishounen is not realistic. Oh well, I guess it could be worse. And I CAN make her like the female characters I think they have nifty designs and attitude, and I can state she has played all the games I like even though she's not obsessed over them, at least.]

Too bad Nakuru flitted off to Hong Kong instead of here; she'd probably agree to go with you anywhere if you promised alcohol and amusement.

Well, with all the minors around, there's not that much of alcohol to lure her in anyway.

Hey, d'ya have anything to do tonight?

She'd find some way to steer the trip to a pub. She always does.

Sort of; I need to clear off The Battlefield... why?

Hell no, then. In those cases I always end up as the designated driver. I can't read my book at a pub.

But around midnight you should be done with it, shouldn't you?
