My favorite part is that you got this line in there:
"But Callie, part of my recovery was accepting that this is my life now. And if medical advancements are made that can improve the quality of my life, that is great, but I can’t handle you depending on them. I have to know that you’ll be okay if this is how it is for me for the rest of my life.”
I did think the show botched that up a bit.
I loved the whole story! I would love a bit more... I wanna see how Sofia reacts in the morning to seeing that Santa found them at the cabin! And playing in the snow! And maybe ending with a line referencing Arizona being ready to at least begin thinking/talking about another baby.... ?
Interesting re: how you heard her speech to April. I interpreted it differently. It'll be interesting to see how they follow up on it. I'm looking forward to the next phase!
Well, that's exactly what she said. She said, "I'm finally feeling okay the way I am now." But she wasn't sure that Callie would be able to accept her as an amputee who is okay with being an amputee, who understands and accepts her limitations.
It's not easy to type a comment while I'm bouncing up and down with glee, but I'm going to try, because OH. MY. GOD. This is just perfect.
The rest of the hospital board (and Owen) orchestrating the whole thing in the beginning was rather excellent. I love that - both on the show and here - they've become this sort of rogue band of...well, not exactly crime-fighters, but close.
I LOVED the presents they gave each other. They were so beautiful and meaningful, and Callie's nervous ramble when she gave Arizona hers was perfect. I also love that, no matter where they go, that apartment really is home because of all the memories that formed there. That's the first place they gave each other their hearts, and that's really what that compass is pointing to.
The way the awkwardness gradually melted away was great. Sofia's the cutest little buffer there is, but even just the way Callie and Arizona each listened to all the things the other wasn't saying was subtle, but beautiful. I could feel the love they still both had for each other come

Different groups of characters have been different kinds of groups at different points and that's been fun to watch in the show. I love showing those kinds of people who work together to make sure the group is happy.
There's more to a place being home than it being the place you live.
Can't take credit for the smut. That was all donteatblue.
I think in a lot of ways, Callie and Arizona haven't given each other enough credit. Callie doesn't believe that Arizona has accepted herself as an amputee and Arizona doesn't believe Callie can accept her as an amputee. If they could verbalize these thoughts to each other, fixing it is much simpler.
You are very welcome and thank you for the lovely review. And for being your lovely self.
Your characterizations were spot on. The board was awesome giving them this present - I love meddlesome friends. And the gifts they gave each other made my heart melt. Seriously, I don't know how you thought of such perfect gifts, but I'm glad you did. I'm obsessed with the gemstone idea now.
And a real adult conversation! It didn't seem forced at all and was a very natural progression of things happening on the show and in the beginning of your vic. I loved seeing Arizona's vulnerability and Callie's stepping up and understanding her wife.

I can't take credit for the gifts, unfortunately. That was the brain baby of my writing partner.
I'm hoping a real adult conversation is coming on the show, but we shall see.
Thank you again.
