I'm reading an article for class right now, about indigenous populations in America and its really quite interesting. Apparently, it is estimated that 90-112 million people were living in the Western Hemisphere before Columbus landed. That is more people than all of Europe at the time. Did you know that when the Jesuits arrived in North America they gave the natives blankets they knew were infected with smallpox? Uf.
