So I was thrown into a violent fit yesterday in stat class. I suppose idiocy begets idiocy, tra la la, but honestly, where are peoples' minds? It's horrible for me to think of how many hours of my life are wasted by being in that classroom for two and half hours each week. We are talking entire DAYS of my life GONE and never to return. Okay, I'm ( Read more... )

well put, girlfriend. reference me in last semester chemistry. lab partners with rick, the frat boy partner from hell who did NO work whatsoever, while I churned out graph after graph and page after page of report. not only was he irresponsible and just didn't do any work, but if he had tried to it would have made my life more difficult, because he was a dumbass.

anyways... have you talked to drew or jeff about coming up tomorrow? i think that is the plan. so... come on. party time.

I completely agree, and we can be snobby and bitchy together, but group projects suck. Most people, especially in college, don't bother to learn about the people around them especially if they happen to be brainless nitwits. This only makes group formation harder than it already was because now you have to pretend to like these people when in reality you'd rather a) work alone or b) kill them and eliminate thier data from the gene pool. And it's always the same bullshit where there are a few smart people, but they can't form a super smart group where they can work together in silence, but have to be spread across the class in equal distribution so that the 'clingers' can cling on and suck life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness out of said smart person. Just A DAMN SHAME! In conclusion, group projects suck because of imbeciles. Oh, and working alone rocks more because ... it just does. No dependency, and you get all the glory.

While I don't agree with you about the inherent little capitalist inside all of us, I do see your point. Some professors claim that the dimwitted reason for group projects is forming an understanding of group dynamics and how to function in groups on tasks, as this is how it's done in the real world (that last little bit was said in a deep, pretentious voice while shaking my head from side to side). If they really wanted their students to experience what work is like in the real world, they would send everyone out on internships.

I'm lucky I go to Tech and most of the student body (that is, non-management majors) are over-achievers.

write a summary of what you, as an individual, contributed to the project: I completed this entire project on my own and feel that due to my efforts, I now have a complete understanding of the material--an understanding which would be muddied by the interference of other parties who would not only cause me to miss out key points of what was trying to be taught (due to the fact that I simply did not ( ... )

hey dumbass. this entry was not friends only.
tell the teacher that you have a disease that prevents you from working with people. its infectious. therefore you worry about forever contaminating the rest of the classes chances of ever working well together in a group ever... or at least until a cure is developed. i also think converting to the church of dan marino would help to. there is much wisdom in dans throwing ability and strategic tackling maneuvers. hark and take note.

or if all that fails talk to him after class and explain to him that you have no time for such nonsense, and attempt to appeal to his sympathetic side by explaining how you have tests coming up and your working alot (to feed all your bastard children you hobag). make something up. go get'm tiger.

long live conquista-core.
