Our case is in review. This is the sort of limbo that is frustrating as hell, because how long does it take to review a case? Either you need more information or you don't. It takes a long, LONG time. I have two sets of friends composed of an American citizen and a Canadian citizen who was brought into the country through a fiance visa. It's a ridiculously complicated procedure, and expensive, and frustrating, and it takes about a year start to finish. It's embarrassing to realize that we Americans pay for this kind of crappy service through our tax dollars. You have my sympathies.

In answer to "how long does it take to review a case?" -- your case is sitting in a pile of hundreds of other cases. When it gets to the top of the pile, they'll review it. This is the way the government works.

It took a year for them to be come a citizen?
Right now we're just trying to get her into the country on a visa so she can work once she gets here.

No, the Canadians I know have not become citizens. It took a year from when they applied to become legal residents with a work permit. Yeah. A year.
