First few weeks of grad school.

It's a different world. Bigger than the leap from high school to college, at least for me. And that's saying something, because my high school was shit and Butler was decent. But this, it's unbelievable. So much more work, but more importantly than that, the people are so much more intense. Instead of having three or four people in each class ( Read more... )

Your perception of this will probably change as time continues on. At first, graduate school seemed that way to me, but now I know the reality of it -- that a lot of people go into grad school to postpone the reality of life. You know, getting a job, being actual responsible adults. Mind you, this isn't everyone, but my two younger labmates would definitely fit into this category.

However, it is refreshing to be surrounded by other people in classes who want to learn as much as you do for the most part. It's just making sure you avoid the duds along the way. ;)

Sounds like things are kickin' ass for you up there my main man. I bet you're an amazing teacher. Next time we meet, though, you'll have to repeat the whole eight beer thing ;)
