Jumping on the bandwagon

Okay, I know I am seriously going to regret this but....

ARGHHHHH!

I don't mind people sharing their experience about Asylum GOOD OR BAD.   What was wrong with it- what was right with it- Those experiences are fine but one thing that keeps going around which is really annoying me is that the staff of Asylum disrespected the guests.

NOT TRUE.  (What I ( Read more... )

I didn't get the impression the guests were upset. I think Jared was maybe a little off his game because he was just so jet lagged, but he tried valiantly to beat it (although staying up late drinking won't have helped!). I think Misha had fun taking the piss out of everyone, and I think the guests got tired, just like the attendees. It was long days for everyone. You know the stuff that was out there in less than 24 hours, we were reading it. The die hard tinhatters really need psychotherapy I think. *ducks*
But the experience was what you made it. I had fun. Immense amounts. I did hear staff being rude to attendees, but then I heard more attendees being rude to staff, so *shrugs*.

I agree! As we discussed and from what I shared with you guys from my own experience, I do think Jared WAS tired. His jetlag I think did hinder his usual 100% puppy like behaviour that we have seen displayed in other conventions. However, I do not think at any one time he was unhappy. I agree above also that I really don't think Jensen and Jared overally care either by a wayward comment by someone ( ... )

This is really why I sholdn't contribute when I have nothing to share. BUT I HAVE MAAAH LOOOOOVE. MY EVER BURNING LOVE FOR YOOOOU!

I have heard that Jason was left sitting in a room for a couple of hours when someone forgot they were supposed to get him for his photo ops or autographs. And apparently Richard and some other guests were left stranded at their hotel for 30 minutes when they were supposed to be picked up for the con one morning.

I wasn't there though and just picked these stories up from con reports, but I can see the guests being unhappy about that-- it makes them look bad too when it's not even their fault.

Is there any point in replying - I'm unsure if you will check it or not- and I actually assume you're probably on my flist- because to be honest- I'm so boring, not a lot of people actually READ my lj! Lol :)

Jason often went missing- it's a big place and I admit that some of the staff (myself included) perhaps should have had communication devices to enable that all communication with each other was on the same note. I doubt anyone was left 'stranded' but 30 minutes can probably be blamed on traffic or the guests themselves delaying matters- which happens- we're all human.

You didn't have to go annoymous- i seriously wouldn't have flamed you for your opinion- i am not a wank starter- I honestly wanted to know peoples views on this and I'm sorry you felt that you had to hide who you are- if you are on my flist- fear not flistie! I don't hold anything to you- just because I worked the con- doesn't mean I was blind to the things that happened there.

But here you are putting it back on the guests and blaming them-- "Jason went missing" and "the guests themselves delaying matters", as if it's not the con's responsibility at all.

It's also entirely possible that it is the con staff's fault, since it seems to have happened more than once and you yourself admit that communication was lacking. As a matter of fact, I'm more likely to put it on the staff since it seems to have happened to several guests several times. *shrugs*

I don't want to argue with you, but it does seem like you're defending them and reflecting all the problems back onto the guests.

Oh God no, that was not my intention- I completely agree with you that a lot of what happened could have definitely been avoided! But you can't escape that sometimes, someeeeetimes things happen that can frustrate a situation BECAUSE of guests- but I did not mean that it was there fault! If we had better communication and perhaps a smaller amount of attendees then I agree- thing would have run more smoothly ( ... )

Darling… this is sane and rational and rather nice in here! I can show you where the real wank is LOL.

ILU BB, and for those reading: jason wasn't left for 2hrs, it was 30mins and that was not because he wasn't treated right or the staff decided to ditch him or any such stupid reason as that it was pure and simple down to the fact that the organisers had not fully realised exactly HOW MANY staff they would need for this event so even with FOUR of us being impromptu volunteers on Friday night it still was not enough for all the jobs that needed to be done. No one mistreated any guests nor did they mistreat us (unless you can SHEER AND UTTER EMBARASSMENT INFRONT OF 1400 ATTENDEES YES I'M TAKING ABOUT YOU MR COLLINS, THANKYOUVEYRMUCH!)

Also, back to you BB, you going next year? I got my tickets, both me and Boy are coming XD

The amount of ick that spreads, fast, in the SPN fandom makes me so sad. :(

I'm glad I read the comments, learned a thing or two.
