When was this written? The style is similar to Dracula (which is a terribly written book, by the way. No wonder Bram Stoker is known only for it). Every character except for the title one is such a perfect specimen of a human being (I guess the Count is disqualified, since SPOILER ALERT, he isn't really one), that they've all spent quite a bit of the novel congratulating each other on how awesome they all are, along with rehashing the plot every step of the way.

Anyway, Dracula is a Victorian novel. Is yours the from same time period?

Yeah, that's about the right period, if i recall correctly.

I've never read dracula. I feel like i ought to, just cause i like vampire myths. But i've heard its pretty awful. then again, I like awful books, so...
