Someone once said that all authors really only have one true, important story to tell, and all their works are only steps along the road toward its perfect expression. It's whether they find new and interesting ways to tell it that's important.

I feel that way about Murakami sometimes - he basically writes about the same guy over and over again - but that's what I love. I tend to find the stories that wander from his "standard" formula a little weaker: the exception being Kafka on the Shore.

You should read Maxx Barry if you haven't already. In his first novel Syrup, there's a super sexy female character named 6.

i have read all three of them and they are all very similar
it's not so bad though. but i have awful taste. so don't listen to me. nopt that i said anything worth listening to.
