Historical Fiction Challenge

May 23, 2003 11:02

Okay, I am issuing a fanfic challenge. Personally, I like lots of fanfare and hurrahs, but I'm not sure how to go about issuing a challenge with exploding fireworks on my LJ. So I guess I'll just spell it out ( Read more... )

Ancient Rome-- Lex is Caeser and Clark is the gladiator he falls for (For the love of God, PLEASE somebody write this!!)

17th Century France-- Lex is lord of the manor and Clark is his stable boy (paging Thamiris!!!)

World War I--Clark signs on with the army to discover he has the hots for his commanding officer, Lex.

Actually, these three would make me a very happy slash slut for the whole summer, or whatever is going to pass for a summer this year.

Marvelous challenge, I'm hoping for tons of entries.

I'm hoping for tons of entries.

Me too!!

As for right now, I'm going to amuse myself by fantasizing about the above three. That should keep me busy for awhile.

Oh my. I'm weak in the knees!

I seriously doubt I could write one by July 4th. But somehow, someday, I hope to write the gladiator fic.

Here's what I have so far:

“Does this stone cause you pain?” Alexander asked.

The boy just set his jaw stubbornly, but he could not hide the greenish cast of his skin or the drawn look about his eyes.

“Does it get worse when I come closer?” It was highly amusing to see him attempt to hide the pain even as swollen veins began to stand out on his skin.

With a casual flick of his wrist Alexander tossed the rock into the corner. No matter how proud, the slave could not suppress his gasp of relief. After catching his breath for a few seconds he even answered Lex’s grin with a small, tentative smile of his own.

This was a most interesting discovery. Tomorrow he would summon the imperial jewelers and have them fashion a ring out of the stone.

p.s. you are going to write Clark and Lex as college roomates in like 13th cnetury oxford, right?
