We spent the weekend driving to OKC (8 hours with a hotel stop in the middle), spending 25 hours there, then turning around and coming home. The point of the visit was to see my husband's ailing grandmother, and I think it was a good thing to do. Little Girl was an amazing trooper and only spent a total of 10 minutes complaining on the entire car ( Read more... )

Yikes, Normally I like road trips but that sounds like a lot of driving squished into one weekend.

Bummer about still getting sick, the middle part is supposed to be the "easy" bit! Hope you feel better soon. :)

I've found that roadtrips lose a lot of their appeal when young children are added into the mix. :)

I'm hoping that the nausea situation is improving--although I still feel miserably sick every evening, I'm now only throwing up about every OTHER day. Got to be thankful for the little things I guess... ;)

I was afraid of that! We'd love to start going on road trips again but we're trying to figure out when and what age would be best... Or if like all things regarding kids each age group has it's plus and minuses.

Well that sounds like some improvement. :/

We drove across Spain and back when she was 4 months old. It went well for the first three days, then on the last day she wouldn't stop crying as long as the car was moving. It was one of the longest days of my life...

When I was a kid, my parents would take my two brothers and me on a two hour trip every year to see my aunt, and every year for many years running my father would have to pull over by the side of the interstate somewhere in the middle and give us a disciplinary lecture. We were not a good bunch of travel kids I guess. Maybe it's all kid-dependent and yours could be great?
