By the way, I was going to let you know about a couple job openings at the Del Monte Center. They're retail jobs like your current job. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with working at Any Mountain, but I imagine your commute gets pretty old. Monterey's still a commute, but it's a lot less of one than San Jose, so I just wanted to let you know.

One's a clothing store called Express that will soon be opening where Borders Express used to be, and the other is Whole Foods.

Let me know if you want someone to talk to - I definitely know what the self pity thing is like, and it's not fun. I know you don't like talking on the phone, but I'm back in Monterey now, so I'm not that far away any more - I could make the trip to Salinas if you wanted to chat or anything. Or not if you'd rather not talk about it, your call. Just wanted to offer.

Um, OMG, I am seconding Whole Foods!!!!! IMAGINE THE DISCOUNT! (for me... of course... I'd just pay you to buy all my groceries for me, naturally... :D) And you'd get to see me like every 5 minutes because that is of course how often I am there. (I was actually there 5 minutes ago, no joke.) YES.

It's only a 20% discount, not 80% or anything crazy like that. So unless you're routinely buying $50+ worth of groceries at whole foods, it wouldn't be THAT big a discount. But I've heard it is a nice place to work at.
