2 weeks passed, both of them still avoiding each other even with the rest of the cast trying so hard to get them to talk together even in a fun conversation. They would just avoid looking at each other and turn the conversation to someone else.
They both thought they were some sort of guilty. Lea knew she was guilty for breaking Dianna’s heart and shattering it into a million pieces. Dianna thought she was guilty for even loving Lea because it was impossible for her to love her back with all of these guys chasing after her. She thought it would be too hard for Lea to turn down all of these guys and settle for a girl. She got to that conclusion by thinking of the scene that Kurt and Rachel had where she told him she had a better chance with Finn because she was a girl. Of course, the situation is in reverse this time but at least it’s similar.
They still had scenes together. Dianna thought it was easy in a way because their characters hated each other, not that she hated Lea but it was easier to be mean to her then being nice to her.
No matter how much Lea avoids Dianna, she was planning on being honest to her soon. She didn’t want this to go on like this, she had to at least try. If it didn’t go well then Dianna might feel a little better to know that she loves her. It might make her bright soul come back. Lea wasn’t thinking about herself this time, she wanted Dianna to be happy and that’s it. It was time to throw her pride out the door and please someone else than herself.
One day, she found Dianna standing behind her trailer listening to music. She looked so much like Quinn at that moment, not the bitchy Quinn but the broken, sad Quinn. Lea ran to her trailer and took a rose out of the vase. She went back and walked slowly towards Dianna, the rose hidden behind her back.
Dianna looked up at her with blank, puffy eyes. After all of these weeks she still looked as broken as ever.
Dianna looked back down at her ipod, pretending to shuffle through songs but the fact was that she was trying to avoid Lea’s eyes.
Lea just reached out and set the rose in front of Dianna’s eyes.
“Di…” Lea managed to whisper.
Dianna looked up at the rose then at lea. using her Quinn sad voice, she said “What’s that? I mean, I know what it is but why?”
Lea took a deep breath just in case she can’t breathe later.
“I left him…..” looking into Dianna’s eyes, she could have sworn that she saw several emotions flick in her eyes in one second.
“Good for you” Dianna looked down at her ipod again. Lea couldn’t handle hearing that sad voice of hers. She heard it before, yes, but it was all acting. This was the first time Dianna used her really broken voice for something real.
“I left him for you…” Lea managed to whisper before looking down at the rose in her hand.
“ don’t….do this..to me…again” From her voice, Lea could tell that Dianna was about to cry.
Moving towards her, Lea took the ear buds out of Dianna’s ears softly and put Dianna’s ipod in her pocket.
“Listen to me…” Lea started off softly “ I love you, Di. I really really love you”
Dianna’s tears began to flow “Then why?..”
Lea reached out, brushing Dianna’s tears with her thumb “Because I was scared. I was scared that I might fall too hard for you then it won’t last. I don’t go through this every day. I don’t get beautiful girl like you all over me. I was afraid to break your heart one day, to break mine too. I did break your heart more when I told you I can’t but that was just a lie, a stupid, selfish lie. I love you more than anything. I love you more than fame or money. I need you more than I need air. You know I can’t sleep these days? I have to cry myself to sleep and have nightmares all night without waking up from them”
Dianna’s tears were running freely now. Dianna opened her mouth to say something but Lea placed her index finger softly on Dianna’s lips.
“I don’t want to be the one who makes your ray of sunshine fade away, Di. I want to be the one who kills everyone who tries to do that. I want to be the one who sleeps in your arms forever. I just want to wake up beside you every day and know that I don’t want anything more in my life but your love. I love you so much, Dianna. More than anyone is going to love you.”
With that, Lea leaned in slowly, kissing Dianna as softly as she can. She wanted to memorize every inch of her perfect lips. She wanted to contain those lips for herself the rest of her life. The one thing she was ecstatic about that she felt Dianna kissing her back with as much love as she was putting into that kiss. They locked their fingers together, leaving that rose in the middle to witness the strong love that wasn’t going to break any time soon.
Meanwhile, Naya and Heather were close by and saw everything happen. Heather let out a voice that showed pure joy and took Naya’s hand.
“Let’s go tell the others, please please Naya”. Naya laughed at how cute her girlfriend was.
“Okay, let’s go, baby”. With that they walked hand in hand to deliver the happy news with smiling faces to the rest of the cast.
