Summary: New York, the city of sins welcomes Lea, Dianna, Heather and Naya. Dianna gets into New York's mood so quick? We'll see.
Lea spent the next day taking care of Dianna’s swollen hand even though the other girl told her it was okay and that no harm was done.
The four girls went back to Los Angeles and were under a pile of work, from photo shoots to filming scenes to signing autographs. It was returning to the way it was before which is crazy. Lea and Dianna didn’t even have time to talk because of everything that was going on although they did share a few glances and smiles from a time to another.
It would all start out when Lea sings on set and Dianna just finds herself staring at the other girl that she feared hearts may form in her eyes at one point like it does in cartoons.
The same thing happened to Lea when she watched Dianna acting. She was such a good actress that she lets the character completely sink into her skin, maybe becoming a new person when she performs.
Despite the fact that they didn’t spend much time together due to work, Dianna had already planned something to surprise Lea with. She was so nervous about it though, like nervous to death. She’s never done something like that before but organizing such thing and didn’t expect to organize it ever until she met Lea.
Dianna needed help in order to organize everything perfectly, the way she likes it. She, of course, asked for Heather’s help who was all smiles and sunshine when Dianna told her about her plan. She had to keep Lea busy too so no one else but Mr. Groff came to her mind. He was the perfect distraction to Lea, though she needed to have a talk with him.
One day, she was walking down the hallway, on her way to her dressing room when she saw Jon walking in the opposite direction. She immediately smiled at him and he smiled back.
“Hey! Jon, I needed to talk to you about something important…” said Dianna, still smiling.
Jon’s smile didn’t fade away either, he liked Dianna. Lea talked about her so much which made him adore her. Lea’s descriptions of Dianna made her sound like a goddess, a perfect person, who she seemed like.
“Go ahead.” Said Jon, still smiling but focusing at the same time.
“I need your help with something…” said Dianna nervously, holding her hands together and swaying them right and left.
Jon let out a little laugh “Don’t be shy, what do you need help with?”
“I need you to distract Lea for me today”. Jon’s expression went to confusion for a minute before he asked “So you can…?”
“So I can prepare her a surprise”
Smiling towards Dianna again, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and started walking down the hall with her “And may I know what surprise this is?”
Dianna blushed deeply and looked at her feet, whispering “I’m…I’m going to propose”
Jon froze, staring at Dianna “For real? Like are you really REALLY serious?”
A smile crept onto Dianna’s lips “yeah”
“You sure about it?” said Jon.
Dianna took a deep breath before talking again “I’m pretty sure. I mean, I’ve never loved someone like that before. Not a girl and not even a man. She’s just…mind blowing. I can’t control my emotions around her except either being happy because she is or just staring lovingly at her without a reason. You think that’s enough?”
She looked at Jon again, who was smiling so widely that his mouth might fall off if he smiled any wider “I think its mad love. You don’t know how much this would be to her. She might faint for happiness, so watch out for that one.”
Dianna burst out in laughter, Jon joined in too “Yeah, I’ll keep an eye out for that one and by the way, thanks for everything, Jon. You’re a really nice friend to have”
Jon just pulled Dianna into a hug “No problem. Good luck today, not that you need it.”
Dianna smiled at Jon when he broke the hug and nodded understandingly, leaving him in the hall. She needed to complete her arrangements, including picking up the ring she chose for Lea and meeting up with Heather to plan how she’s going to do it.
Jon convinced Lea to have dinner with him that night after he made his puppy face and told her he missed her so much since she’s been away in New York.
Lea was still broken because of Theo but Dianna’s smiles and glances made her feel better, safe too. There might be hope for them; they might still have the time to fix it all. Lea wanted that to happen so badly. She can’t recall when she’s ever wanted someone so bad.
Lea and Jon chatted at dinner about everything. Lea did mention Dianna punching Theo in the face causing her hand to get swollen and bruised and was rewarded with a look of amusement on Jon’s face.
“Wow that is so not Dianna. She would never do that to anyone easily” Said Jon, still kind of amused.
“I know it was pretty sweet of her if you ask me…” said Lea while nibbling on her salad.
“Yeah. It shows that she’s really protective of you.”
“I don’t know, I’m kind of worried, Jon” said Lea, putting her fork down and looking at him.
Concentrating deeply, Jon looked at Lea with a serious expression on his face “About?”
Lea sighed “I don’t know. I told Dianna I loved her in New York but she just says that she knows. She didn’t tell me that she loved me except when she was drunk. I’m afraid that at some point it’s going to be way too late to fix things. I really don’t want that to happen, I need her in my life so bad”
Jon smiled “You know what? Don’t worry. It would never be too late to fix things between you and her. I mean, have you seen the way she looks at you? She’s in love with you. Everybody knows she does. Just don’t worry.”
All that Lea could manage to whisper is “Trying to…”
After dinner, Jon was the one who took the wheel, driving Lea somewhere she doesn’t know. He took a road which leads to the top of a hill, which made Lea so confused.
“Where are we going?” asked Lea curiously.
“You’ll see. Trust me” said Jon.
When they reached the top of the hill, Lea could see some lights, besides the lights of the city.
“Good luck”. That was the only thing Jon said before dropping her off and driving away.
Lea walked towards the light until it was clear.
Dianna was there, standing in a middle of a heart made out of candles, looking at the lights of the city, her car parked a few steps away from them.
“Di….” Lea whispered.
Dianna turned around, her smile widening at the sight of Lea.
