OH MY!!!! Mazel tov, Mazel tov, Mazel tov!!! This post made me cry!!! I am sitting her sobbing like a ninny. I am SO happy for you and had NO idea. I totally would have been there. I hope this isn't weird 'cause we haven't met IRL but I have so much love for you and am so happy. My love to the Rebbetzin. This has made my day, and my days have been tough lately. I appreciate so much the bracha.
BTW there was a wedding in my shul a couple of weeks ago and they screwed up the chuppa so they ended up using my tallis what with me being so tall and all (there was room for the Red Army under it). The Rabbi, who is hardcore Ortho and knows I'm queer folded it and handed it back to me and said "Next time by you!" ... then kind of realized what he was wishing me, shrugged and smiled. It was one of those "Gom zu l'tova" moments and he really seemed to hope my wedding, which he knows is on hold because of the Ortho Rabbis dragging their feet with my old man's conversion, comes to pass soon.
We are donating our wedding tzedakah to the Human Rights Campaign -- it hit me even more as we were under the chuppah that this basic right is denied to some.
