I'm not easily distracted. Hey, look- a blue car!zahgurimMay 21 2004, 11:57:13 UTC
Somthing just tickles me about seeing "The Fury of Set" underneath a picture of Bill Murray. =)
What I'm preparing myself for is to take more time after work, tired or no, to just write to my heart's content. Write, and send some of the better stuff off and see what happens.
My Lady has a 300 word-a-day assignment to herself. She writes - good or bad, doesn't matter- 300 words a day. If she skips a day (say, on the weekend), then she needs to write 600 words the next day. It is an exercise that has simultaneously improved her writing and gotten her the bulk of material needed to "get things out there" to be published.
Seems like your writing goal is similar. I'm sure you'll have a big 'ol pile of things to send out in no time. ;)
And this:
These days, a guy drops a wrapper on the street and I want to hand him his spleen. A girl arranges a stem in a Japanese floral arrangement and I feel as though my hand just brushed against the Grail.resonated with me so well I posted my reaction in my own journal. Thanks for the inspiration

I'm also big (!) on disc compilations (file under 'Understatements Of The Century'), as those close to me will tell you.
I'm occasionally ribbed for my, erm, particular approach to designing labels - "shades of grey" and all that. I refer you to the Onion parody of the sad guy and his "liner notes". I'm not him, but I sort of feel his perfectionist pain. :-) It's a creative endeavor, so sue me.
No matter, I love doing it, and no amount of chiding will deter me. I speak through music when words fail.
Go for it. I'll thank you by sending a few of my own.
There is never a song that seem fitting for the moment or the feeling...never a book that has quite what I want to be reading...thoughts come like a downpour of images washing their colour on my mind while the rest of the world lies sleeping...There are things that want to be said, but none of the right words are there...
Yes, which is why I rarely attempt to put words to those images these days, or why I don't spend an inordinate amount of time looking for the musical composition that never was.
Reading Tanith Lee, for me, is about as close as it gets. Close enough to keep me company if I desire company.
At this stage in my life, it seems more honest to enshrine the flood for its own sake. Everyone else will just have to wait outside in the rain.
