My big Table Kat looked out the closed sliding glass door with something between wonderment and disgust. The wind howled as the porch light illuminated the snowflake and rain mixture that thumped onto the other side of the glass. “I don’t believe this weather,” he said over his shoulder to his life-mate.
Shine moved behind him and wrapped his arms around Kat’s waist. He rested his head on Kat’s shoulder to peer out the window too. “Hard to believe it was 110 degrees when we moved here.”
“We could have stayed in Maine for this kind of weather. This is Las Vegas, Nevada for crying out loud. It’s the middle of a desert. It’s supposed to be hot and dry,” Kat protested.
“Surprise!” Shine said, amused by his companion’s attitude. “Welcome to the high desert.”
“I guess it’s a good thing you talked me out of donating my winter coat to the Goodwill then,” Kat said, letting the curtain he was holding aside fall back over the glass door to turn around to pull Shine closer to him. With a wicked twinkle in his eyes,” It will keep me warm outside, but what about inside?”
Even after all the years they had been together, Kat could still make him weak in the knees with just a look. Shine chuckled and melted against the other man’s body as Kat’s hands moved to his ass and pulled him closer. “I thought that was my job,” he quipped before Kat covered his mouth with his own.
