Kit’s Discovery is discovered
Part one
^^^**(*)***^^^
Time goes by both fast and slow depending on how you view it. To Rose the two years since Christopher had made her his personal blood bank had gone by quickly. If she were given the choice now, to stay with Kit or return to the inn, she would stay were she was. Even thought Kit dined on her blood regularly and never put anything away; he treated her better and with more respect than she had ever had growing up at the Running Rabbit Inn.

In the spring Kit hired a horse and wagon and took Rose to the city. Rose loved the bi-annual trips to the city. They were a three or four nights shopping sprees. It was when Rose got to restock her pantry and kitchen and she and Kit would both get a new set of clothes.
They shopped in the early evening as soon as Kit was able, and moved swiftly from shop to shop getting what they needed or placing orders to be delivered to the inn the next day. Many items were purchased at whim like sheet music, books, sweet soaps, and sewing needles. Kit arranged for fire wood to be delivered to their home at regular intervals. He told rose he had no intention of ever chopping wood again. A cryptic remark about his past he didn’t elaborate on.
When their arms were full Christopher took her back to the Inn, and left to conduct his own business. It was an excellent Inn and Kit rented a suite with its own fireplace and a much smaller servant’s room connected to it. In their case, Kit took the smaller room, since it had no widows.
The tavern attached to the inn was a happy well lit place with lots of music and people eating, music and laughter well into the night. Rose enjoyed spending the evenings in the tavern. It was a great treat for her, she had grown up in an inn after all; she was used to having lots of people around.

Rose was singing with the crowd in the tavern and talking to one of the barmaids. She did not see the well dressed couple enter the tavern, a beautiful red haired woman on the arm of an equally handsome gentleman with sandy blond hair and a curly mustache. They went directly to the innkeeper to ask if Christopher Hillock was still staying there. The innkeeper confirmed that Master Christopher was indeed still registered at the inn. If they wanted to know where he was right now they might ask his girl.
“He has a girl with him?” The woman was surprised.
“Yes, she’s over there,” pointing out rose. “The one with the white hair.”
Sitting on a bench near the fire, Rose was easy to spot, the fire reflected on her hair making it seem to glow by itself. She was drinking cider and gossiping with one of the barmaids.
“O My. She is a tasty little thing isn’t she?” she said to her companion, all but licking her lips.
When the barmaid went back to work the red headed woman quickly sat down on the bench beside Rose, she was going to move over when the man sat down on her other side pinning her in. Before she could get up to move away, or say something about other people being rude, she found herself looking into green eyes that sparked with mischief.
“The innkeeper said you are here with Christopher Hillock. Is that right?” She sounded a bit huffy.
“Yes” Rose’s answer was hesitant; she was wary of the strangers asking about her master.
“And what, pray tell are you doing here with my Kit?” The red headed woman sounded catty.
Before she could answer the man sitting on her other side interrupted, his voice smooth as like honey. “Maggie, stop teasing the child. It’s none o your business what she’s doing with him.” he sounded amused, and gave her a lecherous wink when she look at him, “Besides, it’s quite obvious what he’s doing with her.”
Rose’s cheeks turned bright red at the implication the she was sleeping with Kit she was about to say something to the contrary but stopped with her mouth open. Something about the way the blond man smiled at her or the predatory glint in his blue eyes made Rose feel like a mouse surrounded by cats. The man’s smile didn’t change as he reached for her; she cringed away from him but was unable to escape his hand. But all he did was to gently tip her head, clearly exposing the bite marks on her neck to his companion.
“What’s you name girl?” He asked, not unkindly.
When Rose didn’t answer him Maggie slid her arm around the scared girl’s waist. “Don’t let Jacob scare you dear, I’ll protect you.”
“Who’s going to protect me from you”, Rose thought to herself leaning as far away from the woman as she could. Maggie started to lightly run her fingers over Roses face and neck. Rose could feel she was trying to cast some sort of spell on her, but it wasn’t working and she didn’t like the way the other woman was touching her.
“Maggie, get your hands off my girl!” It was Christopher, he was standing behind them and he sounded annoyed.
Maggie jumped up, forgetting all about Rose and through herself into Christopher’s arms planting a kiss on him that made Rose blush. Christopher certainly wasn’t fighting her off. The two were attracted quite a bit of attention from the tavern’s guests, who started hooting and whistling, there were a few shout of ‘get a room’.
When the kiss ended, Kit laughed, gave the crowd a little bow and swept his friends and Rose into his arms and up the stairs to his room.
As soon as the door closed behind them Kit was kissed again. This time it wasn’t Maggie kissing Kit, but Jacob, and Kit was returning the kiss with just as much enthusiasm as he had kissed the red head. Maggie saw Rose’s trying to pretend she wasn’t there. “Christopher Hillock”, she scolded. “Look what you’ve done. You’ve scandalized your friend.”
Jacob let go of Christopher, “Yes Kit, and you’re being rude, you should introduce us to your pretty lady.”
Christopher made a loud snort, then proceeded with grand gestures and overacted chivalry to make introductions. “My love let me introduce you to Rose. Rose, may I present Margaret VonDay.” Maggie giggles and made a small curtsy to Rose.
“Rose this Gentleman, and I use the term loosely, is Jacob Black. Jacob this is Rose, formerly from the Running Rabbit Inn.”
Jacob made a show of bowing to Rose and kissing her hand. “The pleasure is all mine pretty lady.” Rose didn’t know what to do, she just stood there bewildered.
“Now,” Kit said, “that introductions are made, may I suggest that if the two of you are hungry, that you go elsewhere for your dinner?” The way that the two were looking at her, Rose decided that hiding behind Christopher was not being cowardly. Seeing that Kit was not going to share, Maggie and Jacob left, promising to return soon.
