This weekend was cool....
took a trip to the cop shop as well as the contemporary photography museum on saturday. Honestly...half of what was in the museum, I was'nt terribly impressed with, nor did I even find it strikingly "Contemporary" but oh well....it was neat to see what they had to offer. P.S. Wish I could afford to get a new enlarger and set up in the basement here, it perfect, already has a sink and all.
then we went and had a private showing of the statue that is copied in the bottom of the capitol in springfield. it was so much cooler in its grand form. helped that the road was all closed down due to snow and i could crawl up onto the marble and play :) .....oh, and marble+ice/snow=death....remember that kids.
then it was on to jackson park where we encountered the craziest thing ever.....it was like the lake had flash frozen...waves and all. we'd never seen anything like it. had to have been frozen at least 40 feet out, solid. we walked a good 15 ft out onto it (me scared of falling through, and slipping all around) and it was the most surreal experience ever. it was like time had ended and this was the world frozen over. there wasnt a sound, and no one else was there....just dead quiet, bitter cold, and ice as far as you could see. big frozen waves all around you, and you could see where they had crashed on the shore and frozen that way. completely freaked us out. the pictures dont do it justice, as even the sand looks like broken stone it was so cold. the other side of the lake, was smooth, and looked normal, so how this happened....we still dont know.
The "normal side"
I never follow directions..

Oh and here is Edwards and some friends I made from TN and AK respectively last weekend. More to come as we head out to St. Louis this coming weekend with the DartMachine to kick some more campaign ass!
It's still snowing hardcore...and I'm supposed to drive up to the northside for an Edwards meeting a little later. Umm.... yea. Not so keen on snow driving. At least the water finally came back on :)
