Nah, no one's died, as far as I know. I guess people are just concerned since it's highly contagious and this area is so densely populated.

I thought most the experts had pretty much decided that it was no more severe than the usual flu after all. Which isn't to say that I think caution should be thrown to the wind--because that's not what I think at all--but I'm not sure it should still be considered reason enough to close school down, especially when they are already checking people pretty thoroughly on their flights in. Oh well, I guess enjoy the break while you can and have lots of fun~!

Oh, and in response to something you said earlier, in a different journal entry: Yes, I suppose I am getting pretty busy recently. I start Monday, so I am kind of nervous, and today I opened a bank account here. Wooh.

I guess the thing that worries people is how contagious it supposedly is. That + densely populated area = not so awesome. Still, closing school for several days because of ONE case does seem excessive. Ah, well, I did try to make good use of the time off.

Is it more contagious than the normal flu? I think the thing people were comparing between Swine and normal flu was probably severity/lethality, but if swine flu's much more contagious, that changes things... I hope you had a good time! I see from your recent post that you climbed Daimonji. Have you been to the one I was blabbering about liking so much--is it Hiei? the name slips my mind.

:O! My friends had a theory that H1N1 is the reason why tickets to Japan are so cheap. Supposedly the airline is losing customers, or no one wants to go, so they're cutting prices...? Yeah, I dunno.
