Waxed Fabric in SCA period

I taught a class at the Northern Collegia on the weekend just gone. It was about my research so far in the use of waxed linen. We made some round pieces to cover bowls and cups/containers. What an awesome topic! how to keep stuff dry and safe(which I'm guessing was the point) is so important in N. Europe and I think we as a club draw a veil over it.

Do you have notes you can send? Any discussion of sourcing wax, quantities needed, how much it cost, etc?

I'm more excited about your topic than my classes... :-)

No worries. I'll put together a proper post and get it up in the next couple of days. There's the details on how to do it. And then there's the trying to find it actually in period. That's the harder part.
