i also found out that the book was originally supposed to be first in a series of seven, not three, but due to various misfortunes (read: publishers being dumbasses) it didn't work out. how sad.

Wow... it's totally not the way I remembered it - where's Number Ten Ox? Did he actually rewrite the whole thing later on from another perspective?
