Only the Japanese would use music from the "Terminator" movies in their election coverage.

Seriously though in case you haven't heard the news. The "Democratic Party of Japan" DPJ has won in a landslide victory gaining 308 seats in the house of Representatives. This is an amazing change for the Japanese as a political system. In true Japanese ( Read more... )

I've been following the election coverage off and on, with mingled disbelief and political anorak-y glee. ^_^ Nearly 70 percent turnout, up at least a good few percentage points since 2005? I just keep thinking about what you said a while ago -- 'Congratulations, LDP...you're finally screwed up enough to get the Japanese public to care about politics.'

This will be fun to watch.

Yeah I know what you mean, 70 percent at the polls is excellent. I'm with you, It'll be very interesting to see how the LDP and the Obama administration get along. Especially with the recent rise in military support between the two countries.
