We started watching Stargate: Universe. As of yet, the jury is still out on whether it'll be any good or not.
Anyway, there's this episode ...
In Universe, the premise is that all these non-scientist people are stuck on an old alien spaceship that's cruising the universe, checking stuff out with its own resident stargate.
Anyway, there's this episode where people start doing weird things. Like, this one chick just up and attacks the soldier dude for no reason. Then she kind of wakes up out of a trance and has no memory of doing it. This keeps happening. Sometimes people get violent, and other times they just do weird things.
Meanwhile, the scientist-guy who nobody likes is looking at the ship's computer. It keeps tracking something that is moving around the ship, but it keeps fading off the ship's sensors. There's some kind of alien loose in the ship.
They try to catch it, with no luck, because they go to where it is and there's nothing there. And they figure that this alien is making the people do weird things.
The one nerd kid, Ian I think his name is, is the only person who has never been put into this trance. And finally he walks into that room with the stargate, where everybody hangs out all the time, and sees everybody, as in the whole cast of the show, dancing disco. And there's lights going and music and the whole nine yards. And sitting in the middle of the floor is a cat. This cat is all mechanical except for its head, and it's sitting there, controlling all the people and smiling. As soon as Ian sees it, it looks at him and vanishes into thin air, and everybody stops dancing.
Ian has an idea of where it went, so he starts chasing it down a hallway. And it's there, just invisible. I think he could hear it. He corners it and tries to catch it, and it starts ripping him up. But everybody else gets there just in time and shoots it.
Turns out this cat-construct thing was controlling peoples' subconscious, making them do things in a sort of hypnotized state.
AND THEN I WOKE UP.
Talk about a great dream. I hope they really make an episode like that.
