Happy Super Tuesday!

I can't believe how good I feel about this election year.  I generally HATE election years, given how our Presidential elections have gone recently, and the kind of candidates we've had ( Read more... )

i'm still upset i can't vote. even though i'd be voting for hillary, and IL is pretty obviously going for obama (neither of them have really even bothered to campaign here).

what's nice is, that as today has heated up, romney is doing a GREAT job of making himself look like one huge gigantic jackass and is getting heat from huckabee AND mccain. telling huckabee he's stealing all the super christians freaks from him... of course he is, and that's why it's a RACE you moron. and mocking an old political frontrunner and war hero? first, clearly you're pissed mccain got endorsed by bob dole and you've got nothing. and really, not a smart move, especially to talk down veterans to mccain... that sure makes you look like a jackass to anyone with a military background

=)

I just hope Huckabee and Romney continue to alienate voters enough to ensure McCain wins the nomination.

Because good lord, it would be FABULOUS to have a Republican candidate who isn't an extremist freak show this year.

I completely, completely agree. I am a Democrat, but don't feel afraid if McCain were to take office. Huckabee and Romney, even more so, scare the crap out of me.

I'm a crazy-left-wing Democrat, but if I had to pick a Republican, it'd definitely be McCain, since all the others scare the living shit out of me.

But I'm voting for Obama today. :)

YAY Obama! I really hope I get to vote for him this year. He's my top choice (of those left - Edwards was before) but since I'm far less concerned w/ the Democrat candidates, I am glad to be voting in the Republican primaries this year.

Thing is, I'm torn about the Republicans this year. If a Republican wins, I'd rather it be McCain than anyone else... but if he does get the nom, I feel like he'll be harder to beat than any of the crazier candidates. Hmmm.

I have ZERO faith in the citizens of this country to vote for a sane candidate (Democrat) if McCain doesn't win the nomination. For me, no question. I won't be voting for McCain in the general election, but I will be TERRIFIED that day if he's not the candidate.

I know what you mean. I'm an Obama supporter, but I wouldn't be dismayed if Clinton won.

I'd be really disappointed if McCain won, but I'd be flat-out terrified if Romney or Huckabee won. Sick and tired of intolerant bigoted big-business jackasses getting voted into the Oval Office.

And you're right, this is definitely not a case where voting for the obviously unfit candidate would help secure a landslide victory for the Democrat.

haha. you know what's funny about this? I'm a democrat (I guess I technically am, since they made washington voters swear a party oath this primary or their vote doesn't count), but I'd be totally fine with McCain if he wins. I kinda like the guy.

I'd be ok with McCain - I've been a fan of his for years. I prefer a democrat because w/ all the recent crap, I want a different party in power. But without anything bizarre happening, and assuming McCain is truly the Republican candidate - I'll be ok with whoever wins. I'll have a definite preference, but not be scared of any of them.

I've always been cool with mccain. maybe it's because he actually kind of seems like a real person, rather than a politician.
I'd really prefer a dem in office too. It'd be nice to not have a poor economy where the canadian dollar is worth more than ours and where there's a hiring freeze on at work. that really blows.

Yeah... I really wanted McCain to win the nomination when Bush won two elections ago - I think he was out before the AZ primaries so I didn't get to vote for him! The one thing I don't like is he's tried to kiss up to the Republican/ultra conservative side too much for my taste in the last 4 years. But I've been a fan of him for many years in general.

I actually used to work with a guy whose place he took in going over to Vietnam.... and the guy is positive HE wouldn't have survived as a POW so he credits McCain with the fact he's alive today.
