It is weird when in retrospect LiveJournal is one of the better choices. I am already tired of Buzz, and Facebook was always a failure. Myspace was just too gawdy and I couldn't stand people playing bad music via flash when I visited their page.

Welcome back! LiveJournal is definitely the best choice for really sharing one's thoughts. Facebook is good for everyday contact, but you have to watch every word you say! The others? Meh.

Certainly I've never seen a blogspot I liked as much as lj. Communities are of course a different, tending to be specialized in a particualr subject. Yup, nothing quite like lj.
