Had to gif one of my favorite scenes from Merlin this week.  Its got some serious man!pain and it screamed that it needed to be done.  I liked the episode pretty well overall with only a few things that bugged me.  Anyone else think Gwen/Arthur scene was kind of ... forced?  And when is Merlin gonna learn to quit messing with stuff?  The first 10 ( Read more... )

I'll look at that scene when I get home. As long as they have no mouth movement then it's a go. Drives me nuts to see vids or gifs with mouth movement. I wanted to gif that scene with Arthur playing with this ring but he won't stop talking during it.

I get what they were trying to do but I still don't think it worked. I wish they wrote Gwen's character a bit more for the role she'll eventually play but right now, she seems kind of forced to me. And? Morgana has treated her like shit ever since she's come back - I wouldn't shed a tear for her atm.

Man!pain with the wet!boyz was definitely hawt.

Here's to hoping Merlin learned his lesson - even the dragon gets tired of his gullible nature.

She's totally becoming the Lana Lang of Smallville - it's like she's Arthur's girl and that's it. No real purpose other than the emo!ansty romance angle. (Please to be not killing me for making the comparison, but that's how I always saw Lana.) Hopefully we'll see some more Gwen this season!

I have to agree with this. It worries me that they've made Gwen's becoming story into how Arthur someday makes her queen, rather than how she earns becoming queen and her spot in Arthur's heart. Last season they botched things by moving them too fast. S1 Gwen seemed to be a voice for the people of Camelot, and I would love it if they would show her advocating for the faceless masses of the kingdom that Uther dismisses and Arthur sometimes forgets unless he's under great princely duress. We could see Arthur coming to love her for that and for the people coming to love her for it, so that there would be rejoicing when he married her, by everyone ( ... )
