Saddam Hussein was a monster. In fact if you listen to Bush Jr., Bill Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Donald Rumsfeld or almost anyone who comments on this, they justify the war repeatedly by saying that this man is such a monster that we just can't let him survive. Thank you very much for that. I did enjoy it!

Fact is, as Rumsfeld himself said in the 1980s, "he's a son of a bitch but he's OUR son of a bitch". The whole Iraq debacle could therefore be seen as delayed 'blowback' for our support, appeasment and supplying of Saddam.

He was a bad man, no question about that whatsoever. So the fact (and it is a fact) that we all kept him in power over the years is nothing short of sickening.

The al-qaeda connection is, you'll be shocked to hear, a complete myth, too: they saw him as a 'bad muslim', pretty much the worst thing fellow one Islam follower can say to another.

Makes you wonder if he said something along the lines of 'you lot GAVE me the weapons' at his trial, only for the footage of this to be 'lost'...
