Pain and distraction (incl. Book #7)

So, I was scheduled to have a nasty tooth removed today, and hey, while we're at it, all of my wisdom teeth as well. I do not share my dentist's nonchalance towards this invasion of my own flesh. However, he had some good reasons and I was already in pain due to the infected tooth (inconveniently not one of the wisdom teeth) so I agreed.
The top two came out without any trouble. Then the infected one, a bit of trouble, but not much. The third wisdom tooth was erupted but coming in side-ways and therefor a bit of cutting, drilling the tooth in half, much more pulling and a couple of stitches were all in order. I thought I was doing fine at this point and very much wanted to be done, so when asked if I needed a break, I said what I thought meant "No, let's just do the last wisdom tooth and be done" with looks and gestures. Dr. P said he didn't blame me. Unfortunately, my body disagreed with this decision and at about that point, I apparently fainted. I woke up to paramedics taking my vitals and my dentist stated plainly that we would not be extracting the last tooth today. Matt is being completely wonderful, taking care of me and the babies.
Now I'm home, on pain meds and trying to figure out what to eat and what to do. The meds make me dizzy and a little faint, but in general, things are going as well as I'd hoped. Ironically, we have noted that the Loritab pills are marked with and "M," the Motrin pills with an "L" and are otherwise almost identical. My dentist just called to check on me and suggested mashed potatoes, and reminded me to come in for a check up tomorrow.

I just finished reading Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. Given the symbols and patterns we were taught to look for in college (I majored in literature and publishing) I'm surprised that I never had to read this book. However, I suppose that you can't pick all of them and many of my teachers were young and preferred more recent authors.
