My other favourite thing a small child has said lately, in response to me explaining why some butterflies camouflage themselves:
"But we don't eat butterflies!"
"That's right, we don't - why do you think that is?
"They're not kosher."

Hmm...I doubt you would want the full explanation about cyanogenic glycosides that I could provide if we're talking about Heliconius butterflies.

I would love it, but only if you can be so full that it would get to my level. ;) The butterfly in question had wings that looked like brown leaves.
