Can somebody tell me why you cook lobsters live rather than killing them first? It seems inhumane to boil a creature to death rather than kill it quickly. Just wondering.

Logically it would be to have it as fresh as possible. But yeah, I agree with you - it just seems horrible to boil something to death and then eat it.

What if you killed then, then immediately cooked it? I guess people would rather put something in the pot and shut the lid where they don't have to see it die than have some blood and guts to clean up. I don't even like seafood.
