I don't have any friends from before college, Most of my closest friends I've made in the last two years. I don't really have any advice for you, but I just wanted to point out that I think your observation is far from a universal truth. The only people that hang out with the same losers they grew up with are the sorts of boring fucks you don't want as friends anyway.
