Well, now you know why I closed down my LiveJournal. Couldn't agree with you more.
A friendly word of advice, from one frustrated writer to another: never destroy any of your material. Try to finish what you start even if it doesn't work on the page the way it works in your head. That applies to much more than writing, but this is where it all begins. Your writing is the result and reflection of the better part of you, and you, as a creative, inquisitive person, have a leg up on all the mundane and dross people you will encounter for the rest of your life.
No matter how fake or contrived or shallow anything or anyone seems to you, just know that I've always loved you like a brother and I know that you're too strong, too intelligent, and too talented to be like any other wasted, bitter, juvenile bump on a log. I don't care how corny that sounds to you, and I don't care if you don't care, as long as you know.
