“Mmm-hmm,” Liz answered skeptically with the wine glass still pressed to her lips.
“We have these inherent instincts and desires. We’re territorial. We’re protective of our own. We fight back when we feel threatened. These are carnal, caveman concepts that are still very real in all of us today, you know?”
“Uh-huh.”
“And all I’m saying is that it should be okay for me to want my steak cooked rare.”
“Yeah, okay, caveman. You enjoy your still-breathing cow, and I’ll eat my artichoke salad.”
