The difference between sobriety and recovery

When I first heard the saying there's a difference between being sober and being in recovery, it didn't make sense to me. Weren't they the same thing? If you were sober, didn't that mean that you were in recovery from your addiction(s ( Read more... )

I'm in tears over here because this post is made of win... I am so completely happy for you and happy to read this post from you. Again, my favorite line you said "It's support and it's faith and it's believing in myself, that I deserve happiness and respect and a good life." True for you... true for me... true for the good people we can surround ourselves with. I know you don't know me that well, but I'm proud as hell of you... and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for continued recovery and success but most important, support and happiness. *big hugs*

You sound way more peaceful and at ease with yourself that I've ever read you. Anger didn't suit you, and I'm really happy for you that you have achieved a kind of inner balance. Congratulations, and to the next 30 days of recovery!
