signs (no spoilers)

I just saw Signs, written/directed/produced (and acted in) by M. Night Shyamalan (the Sixth Sense/Unbreakable guy). Wow. It wasn't perfect, but it was really good. I am amazed that it evoked several very strong, very different emotions, which I don't normally expect together in films. I felt intensely frightened during a great deal of the film

I have to admit I loved it myself. I was really very scared and even shrieked a few times at some of the scarier moments. My husband, on the other hand, bitched and moaned about how stupid the ending was and went on to whine about all the things that didn't make sense about the aliens. I, however, thought the direction of it was incredible, and quite enjoyed the story. Plus, I appreciate a director who casts himself in his own movies. It's like a special treat. I'm with you, it's definately a worthwhile movie and one I'll be happy to own.

i definitely thought there were a few flaws, and some of the alien stuff was kind of weak. but like I said, the movie wasn't really about that, mostly, so I thought it worked overall. I want to see it again. :) maybe with someone else, this time, though... I was jumping all over the place. ;)

I put my specific movie comment here (since it had spoilers). Yeah, your worry was right about me. I thought the flick was too heavy-handed, with ridiculously unbelievable aliens. I was kinda warned by a person at GALAH that I would find it disappointing and not like the end, but I think I liked it even less than he did. I saw it because his comments made me curious to see my reaction. Well, now I know ;) .
