House, now that our... patient has left the hospital, would you mind telling us why we had to treat a dog?

I know that we specialize in unusual diseases, but I assumed that we stuck to the human variety. Was I too rash in that assumption?

We had a puppy? Why didn't anyone tell me?

Wait, was it rabid?

It wasn't a puppy. It was a full-grown Australian Shepherd. I had to do a full blood panel (which was completely normal, I think. Did I mention yet that it was a dog?) and then House declared that it needed emergency surgery and wheeled it off. Two hours later, he came back, and told me to "hold its paw until it came out of anesthesia." It came out, and then ralphed all over me. I still don't know what House did to it.

I need another drink.
