So I cranked the car over today for the first time right after the harper cruise. All I can say is...damn! It's running open headers right now and is loud as hell but even without a muffler it sounds tuned, no braps,chokes or stutters nothing. Just pure american V8. The throttle response is more like a crotch rockets then a cars, no hesatation ( Read more... )

You know, while I do consider you a good friend, I've decided you will never be allowed to visit me in Arizona. I don't think I'd be able to handle you AND Tig talking about cars 24/7.

I don't remember much car discussion going on during the trip.

I think that's because she's learned that when she talks about cars around me, I tend to go into a coma-like state until she quits. However, putting her near someone else who's actually interested in cars... *shudder*

I usually just sort of let my eyes glaze over and think about something else. Like when you two would talk about EQ.

i am into cars tho my current ride doesnt reflect this well.
Im a complete adrenaline junkie so fast is always good <3
My car is a mazda 626 ive put on headers, exhaust and a cold air intake to give it a boost but nothing short of sever weight reduction, forced air induction, a new chip and mebbe an engine swap could make it truly fast. Im looking at mebbe getting a pickup (toyota tacoma 4x4 6cyl> in AZ and a motorcycle to assuage my speed cravings. Off-roading is just too much fun to ignore. Eventually i would like to get either a vintage mustang, GTO or mebbe one of the new chargers since they look promising although dakotas and durangos seem to be the only dodge car not afflicted with pos trans systems.

I have a 97' Camaro Z28 with P&P'ed heads,larger valves,cam,springs,roller rockers, ported intake and upgraded air intake and exhaust from filter to tailpipe, makeing somewhere in the neighberhood of 450 peak hp.
The 626 is a good starter car I really like mazda motors, with a tuner car ( even though it's sort of a ford)forced induction is definatly the way to go for speed but if the car didn't come with a turbo it's gonna be a real headache. An idea might be to see if you can cram one of those older RX-7 boosted Rotary engines under the hood,the cost might be equivalent to just a turbo install on the current motor plus you would really turn some heads. On the current setup you really need to get the head(s) ported & larger valves to really make use of the mods you have on there. As far as offroading Im into that as well but no truck right now :(. <---- looks like a pimple but really just a period ( ... )
