First piece of TWEWY fanfic I've ever written! How 'bout that. :O

“So, Neku…what do you think?”

Neku glanced up from below his bangs as the curtain slid away before him, Shiki stepping out of the changing booth in a long red dress, patterned along the sides with black roses. The corners of his mouth twitched into a small smile and he lifted one arm, motioning for Shiki to turn around.

With a giggle, she complied, spinning on the spot; the dress was open at the bottom, he noticed, so it twirled around her as she span. Neku’s smile twitched wider.

Kinda like a princess. he thought. Though she isn’t exactly princess-like.

Shiki tottered to a stop, turning to face Neku and give him a smile.

“Well?” she prompted.

Neku shifted his stance against the changing room wall, considering.

“…it makes your butt look good.” he muttered.

Shiki’s eyes widened beneath her glasses, blush already darkening on her cheeks. She held up her hands in front of her reflexively.

“N-Neku!” Shiki squeaked. “You don’t just say that!”

Neku’s smile grew wider, turned into a smirk, and he gave a small snort of laughter. He folded his arms across his chest and quirked an eyebrow at her; amazing, really, how many of her little physical quirks had carried over to Eri’s body. It’s one of those things you always just know, I guess. he mused. Weird.

Neku’s gaze turned upwards again, considering the still-red girl in front of him, idly wondering why she hadn’t asked Rhyme along to do this. Just because they’d done it a lot in their week together - okay, he’d initiated it sometimes, that D+B stuff in the window had just looked cool - didn’t mean he enjoyed it.

…okay, he did enjoy it. It was nice, having that much Yen to spare. Didn’t hurt that it had carried over to the RG, either; they were pretty loaded now. For kids, anyway. Meant they could do this sort of thing a lot, which was always nice; it gave them a chance to spend time together. Alone.

Neku blinked, looking up at Shiki in front of him again. Maybe that was why he was suddenly enjoying this…?

Shiki twiddled her foot against the carpet, holding his stare.

“Uh, Neku…you in there?” she asked.

Neku blinked again, pulling himself back to reality, and nodded. He looked her over again; she did look nice in that dress, but…

“The colour’s wrong.” he said. “You should try something in pale blue. It’d set off your brown hair really well.”

Neku shifted to his other foot and repositioned himself against the wall, glancing at her, up and down.

"Just below knee-length'd work nicely."

Shiki’s eyes widened, and she gave Neku a brilliant grin. Neku couldn’t help it; he grinned back.

“Okay!” Shiki chirped, straightening her glasses. “I think I’ve got something in here that’d really do the trick!”

“I’ll be right here.” he muttered as Shiki bounced back into the changing booth, sliding the curtain behind her. Neku let out a soft sigh and tilted his head upwards, gazing idly at the ceiling of the store. He’d be right here.

For as long as it takes…I’ll be right here.

Surprisingly, I've thought this would make a cute story since I first played the bit where Shiki explains the shops and brands to Neku. Though Neku is a bit more willing to actually be there since it's set post-game. :V

Boy, I sure am posting a lot lately.
