Beware of run-on sentence

It's probably irrational of me to want to change my major/career path to something that might make me marketable or give me a competitive edge in a post-apocalyptic future in the event civilization as we know it comes to an end at the end of the year 2012, right?

I'm pretty sure the recession will be over by then. But making yourself more marketable as opposed to less is always a good idea for when you get out in the real world job market, which can be rough (says the English major who job hunted for 5 months post-graduation).

I used to think it would be easy finding a job as a chemist in pharmaceuticals or some old fart's lab but nope, my super hard degree is completely worthless right now (and it's not just me; I know lots of science majors in the same boat). Maybe Starbucks will value it?

I'm a big advocate of doing what you love (says the medschool drop out who's now in $100k in debt) but I agree with frecklegirl -- it doesn't hurt to be marketable. This recession sucks ass.

It's not irrational. I'm lucky I have my stressful job. I mean do what you think is good for you. You can always be a social worker with any degree. :)

Good luck! when are we doing lunch homes?

You should choose something that will benefit your future after the world ends because all the sinners will remain on earth while all us good people go to heaven and play baseball with jesus.
