As most of you know I do mixed media art where I cut shapes out of blocks of color in magazines and then piece them together to form pictures like mosaics.

Just to refresh your memory:

Thanks. I just need better materials and I prefer the gradation I get from the magazines as opposed to just buying colored paper.

It seems that Real Simple has a thicker page than normal, I may be wrong. I love your art! I used to be a big collage person (not beautiful like yours, more of the ransom note look) but scrapbooking and embroidery have eclipsed other crafts. I *may* be able to send on somne used mags if you need them.

Thanks, I'll look for it. Don't worry about sending me any. If I find one that's perfect, I might just subscribe, so I'd have a steady supply. I'll have to see.

Thanks. I think art magazines might be too tempting to read and save. Sometimes I need to have something that I don't value because then I can just cut and if I ruin several pages before I get it right, then it doesn't matter.

I'm wondering now if some of those women's rags (all about make up and sex) might print on heavier paper. It doesn't have to be the best paper in the world, but it can't be tissue-y either.

Thanks!!

Scrapbooking magazines always have neat colorful pages, I would go to the library where they discard the old ones. Or try a used book store.
