Exercise as a treatment for depression

Feb 10, 2005 10:56

This article suggests that a 30 minute good aerobic workout 3-5 times a week is as effective as drugs or therapy in treating depression.  Very interesting.

I try to be active, but I'm certainly not doing a solid 30 minutes, with optimal heart rate, 5 times a week.

Oh yeah, I do that hehe! I also have to watch what I eat incase I get triggered off and start back down on the road to psycotic lol!
Well, that wasn't really a joke, thats actually kind of true.....
Anyway! Yes, I do the workouts, I try to get to Boxing as often as I can too but sometimes I'm so poor I can't afford it lol! So I have to do a lot at home, running, exerise bike, LOADS of jumping, man, its not normal to do as many jumps as I do lol! Plus I use a skipping rope a lot, I find that helps at boxing too, and of course lots of press ups and sit ups. Yay!
