Song Meme:

anonymousblack gave me the letter M. If you want me to give you a letter, just respond and I'll give you one. Then YOU can dig through your music files/CDs/tapes/8tracks and find your favorite songs with that letter

Mine are behind the cut

Master of the Wind (Manowar-It's a twofer on the Ms!) - Okay so Manowar is one of those old school hair bands with fast electric guitars and hard metal type sound. Their songs are all about the Norse Gods and Goddesses plus several other types of mythology. Not normally my kind of music but Hans turned me on to it back in high school. Since then Master of the Wind has been a very emotional song for me. It's a ballad but it's beautiful. The parts that crescendo in it are so...powerful.

Mexican Moon (Concrete Blonde) - I had to put something Concrete Blonde in here, j! Seriously though, I love Concrete Blonde and have since high school. Mexican Moon is one of those that you can sing to as well as dance too...all sexy-like.

Mi Mancherai (Josh Groban)- Josh Groban has a beautiful voice, plain and simple. I really like this song and it always floats to the top of my MP3 player when I have my pick. At one point he sings Mi Mancherai...Amore Mio with such HEART in it that it gives me chills. It only lasts a few seconds but I listen to the entire thing just to get to that part.

Moonlight Sonata (Beethoven) - I love Beethoven. For years. Moonlight Sonata is very mainstream but it's my favorite piece by him. I love Gary Oldman too. So listening to him play Moonlight Sonata in the movie Immortal Beloved with his head down on the piano (it wasn't a piano...harpsichord maybe?) was so incredibly moving to me. I think of that every time I hear it.

Missing (Everything but the Girl) - Total old school song but I love the dance mix version. Brings me back to the old days when I'd actually DANCE to this kind of music. I still would given the chance!

Mr. Bojangles (Sammy Davis Jr.) - This is just a song for enjoyment. The version I have on my IPOD is a live version and when he gets to the part where he sings, "You see son, I drinks a bit," you can tell that SDJ is really into the character. Plus Sammy can sing the hell out of it.

My Immortal (Evanescence) - I love love love this song and I love love love to sing this song. I saw the video and the emotion of the song brought me back to other memories. Memories probably better left alone but anything that's that evocative for me is a good thing.

My Life (Bon Jovi) - Bon Jovi is one of those guys that gets hotter with age. I like the pump-i-ness of this song. I like his old school stuff and most of his newer stuff. But My Life is very upbeat and I have a hard time listening to it quietly. It's one of the ones where my ears need to hear it LOUD!

My Sharona (The Knack) - I can't help but dance to this the same way that Winona Ryder and Jeanine Garafalo danced to it in Reality Bites. (Awesome movie btw). Plus I had a record (yes...a RECORD) when I was a little kid of the Chipmunks covering 80s music. It had everything from Queen to the Knack on it and My Sharona was one of them. I have to smile when I hear this one because I think of the Chipmunks singing it.

Mystic Hopscotch (Eddie Izzard) - Ok so this doesn't count, I know. It's not a song. But it was the M section of my MP3 and I had to put it simply because Eddie Izzard is my #1 favorite comedian. And the Mystic Hopscotch thing seriously cracks me up. (Along with just about everything else he does).
