untitled: 11/16/06 (poetry)

She watches from afar
That strange glow in her eyes
Standing a distance away
Too afraid to come near

He sees her suffer
But his feet are glued to the ground
And mouth sewn shut
He wants to help (truly he does)
But is caught in the tides

She is alone
Her heart fell from her sleeve
Trampled on the floor
(By the ignorant masses)
No hope, no love

She ends it.
The unfathomable pain
He thinks as he stands at the foot of the grave
Staring death in the face, her pale pink lips
How did things turn this way? (The gun, is what she whispers)

If only he had found the courage.
