Always there (poetry)

Always There

Who are you?
Why are you standing there?
Looking at me
Though the broken window
The glass has shattered, obstructing your view
And yet, you still continue to stand by me
Watching from afar, guiding misjudged choices
Penetrating onyx eyes, can read my every move
Peer into the soul; tell me it’s all right
Hold me into the azure night
The haze of the morning glow sings a sweet song
Fingers entwine with the shadows on the wall,
Trace the patterns of the heart
I call and it echoes in the darkness,
Light a candle, and your face lingers there
The stranger at my window sill
Waiting for the dawn to come,
Then steal me away, close in your abide.
We are one, mingling fragments sewn together.
