...the plot is the most morally bankrupt thing I’ve seen come out of comic books since that one Heroes for Hire cover. For Christ’s sake, the whole emotional payoff of the movie is that Batman and Gordon collude to cover up the crimes of the city’s DA because they think it will make Gotham City *feel better* if they can continue to believe that some people are just too radiantly good to cause harm.
