I bet the Doctor did that for him, didn't he? It would be so poetic. Surely the man would ssee the need to pry in the face of something like this? A sorrow so deep, only death could begin to come near it, like a unicorn to a maiden, and vice versa.

Wow, this is heartbreaking. Really, really good - makes me want to cry. (I didn't cry, though, because that would make my laptop wet and Tosh doesn't like getting wet. Yes, I called my laptop Tosh. Toshiba. ;-D)
