My middle school english teachers had more of a generic tendency to go for the kids that knew the big words first, favor them. The ones always on predictable task. Mr. Clancy favors the undefinable, the people gossiped about because they are enigmatic. He'll take a liking to the rebellious class clown just because of his awareness that they are

Hmm I never really considered that because I don't think it's true for my grade. Since I've been in his class (the 2nd semester of my sophomore year) he's noticed how much I care about my writing and has gave me some good feedback on becoming a better writer. It wasn't until last year when I acutally talked to him about writing, and it has helped me because I had my own way of writing things and he gave me simple advice that's had a huge impact on how I write now. When I wrote my first paper this year, he was really surpised on how much my style changed. But anyways getting to the point, since I've talked to him about my writing he comes up to me after after revises my papers (he does that for A.P.) and talks to me about my paper and whatnot. But if you really want more feedback you could go and talk to him about your writing, just a suggestion.

I REALLY didn't want to alter my writing when Mr. Clancy was telling me all these suggestions. Most of my writing consisted of a lot of imagery, fairly big words, figurative language, metaphors, and hidden meanings. It was the way I liked it. For me I wanted it to be an art of my own and not follow standard writing rules. That's how I write all my poems. I don't know the right way of writing but I figured if I want to become a better writer I should change it up a little bit and see how it goes. I'm not saying you should ask him for advice, but you never know what can open your eyes to different things. It was just that he had some pieces published and used to write a lot and I thought he might be able to help.
