It sounds like this movie did the same thing that Hard Candy did to me. That movie left me scarred. I'm pumped about Hostel Part 2, but I don't have very high expectations just because generally Eli Roth's scripts tend to suck, although I did enjoyed Hostel. As much as I hate to say it, it sounds like Eli Roth could be the next George A. Romero, using the horror genre as a way of putting out deep, often political, messages.
I think that George Romero's movies' messages are easy to understand, but the kind of feeling I get from Roth's movies is that he just kinda makes them up after he does what he wants just decides, well "yeah thats what I was going for," kinda thing.
I didn't think his past movies ever really said anything important, but judging by what you said about part 2 it sounded like he was going for something deeper. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. As a horror fan I can't miss it.
