Zod

I ventured out of my cave today to acquire provisions and to relieve some of this cabin fever. The temperatures are creeping upward which means the thick layer of ice is melting, which in turn means lots of slush, dangerous sliding rooftops and falling icicles.   Supposedly this is the worst winter storm in ten years.

The buses are running pretty ( Read more... )

I've found myself saying "Son of Jor-El, kneel before Zod!" far too much in recent months. Stupid "Mallrats."

Haven't seen Mallrats. I heard it's not his best. Funny how most women I know prefer Chasing Amy to Clerks. It must be a gender thing.

Oh, and Ben Affleck. Hairplugs ahoy!

Well, B-Af does give possibly the best performance of his career in it. But as for the preference, I chalk it up to the same trait inherent to women that makes them inattentive drivers. Some critical mental failing. Tragic, really. Heh.

And did someone say Johnny Depp? Any micro-film fest is incomplete without "Sleepy Hollow" and "Cry Baby."

YESSS...

Cry Baby is by far my favorite John Waters film. One of Johnny's best, too. Do you think he's too big a star to do another low-budget Waters movie? You know he's starring in Tim Burton's Unnecessary Remake of Willy Wonka, right?

I love Tim, but why remake a classic? Then again, it has worked before, just not often. I concede that it worked with Sleepy Hollow.

Referring to one of your recent posts, I'm totally fixated on this Michael Jackson game. When I move back to SLO I have to see it, play it, experience it...FEEL it!

"You know he's starring in Tim Burton's Unnecessary Remake of Willy Wonka, right?"

Yup. Nicolas Cage was originally slated for the titular part. I think I would have liked it better. Better, that is, if it's entirely necessary to rape one of my fond childhood memories.

"I concede that it worked with Sleepy Hollow."

Well, Sleepy Hollow was a really awesome re-imagining, I think. It succeeded in the exact way that Burton's other big re-imagining, "Planet of the Apes" failed. Seriously, I would have rather had Burton shit in my mouth than ere I ever seen that movie.

Well, my house is easy enough to find. By the way...I know next to nothing about you. Are you male or female? Shamon.

Do you know why Nick Cage didn't do it?

Did you see Big Fish yet? If I can drive tonight, I'll either see that or Monster.

I'd love to see _phaedrus_' band at Sweeties. Sadly I'm hundreds of miles away.

I am female. I know a bit about you from your postings and your bio.

Well at least you have power . . . I remember some blizzards back in New Jersey where we'd lose power for several days and in a few cases almost a week, couldn't go outside because of how much snow was blocking the doors and pretty much lived downstairs near the wood burning stove . . .

course my parents had it even worse, they went to school and back uphill in the snow on foot both ways :)

A wood burning stove is a almost a necessity back in NJ and every year in Fall we'd have two or more dumptrucks of wood show up. I remember spending entire weekends stacking wood in the side yard. And oh did I love that wood burning stove . . . since it wasn't a fireplace you could cook on it, which was very important when you had no power and electric stoves in the kitchen.

Yea we gamed. Just got done about a half hour ago.

"I stood behind a guy in line who was buying one item: a Fleet enema. Poor guy. To be snowed in and bound up. That must really suck."

This truly made me laugh out loud. :)
Oh, and in reference to your movie selection, will you marry me?
That is all.
